ClearCorrect is an alternative to traditional braces. It uses a system of strong, yet thin and lightweight plastic retainers to gently move your teeth into the proper position. It’s similar to Invisalign and other retainer-based braces alternatives.
ClearCorrect is an ideal treatment solution for older teenagers or adults who wish to correct minor bite issues, crooked and gapped teeth, or crowded and misaligned teeth, but do not to deal with the stigma or discomfort of unsightly metal braces. It’s nearly invisible and does not affect speech, so ClearCorrect can be worn anywhere, and helps you avoid the stigma of traditional metal braces.
After your consultation with Dr. Tran, he’ll create a custom ClearCorrect treatment program just for you, and you’ll receive your first set of aligners. These aligners should be worn for 22 or more hours per day. They should only be removed to floss and brush, and to eat and drink. The more you wear your aligners, the faster you’ll start to see results.
Over a period of about 2 weeks, your aligners will gently move your teeth into the proper position. Every 2 weeks, you’ll switch to a new pair of aligners, and the process will begin again. Usually, treatment takes about 20-24 sets of aligners, though this depends on the patient. This means that most patients can be treated in just under a year.
Here are a few reasons our patients love ClearCorrect treatment: Unlike braces, you can remove your ClearCorrect aligners to brush and floss, which encourages better oral hygiene during treatment. Braces, when tightened, can cause significant discomfort. But ClearCorrect aligners work gently and exert even pressure on your teeth, so they’re more comfortable.
Braces must be tightened every 2-4 weeks, requiring you to spend an hour or more in the dentist’s chair. Alternatively, ClearCorrect requires fewer appointments with Dr. Tran, which are usually also much shorter.
Exactly how long it will take to straighten your teeth depends on the severity of your case and your compliance with the treatment. Treatment takes an average of 1-2 years but those with minor spacing issues may only take 6 months and those with more severe malocclusions like a misaligned bite may need to wear aligners for longer than 2 years.
The treatment works by gradually shifting your teeth with the gentle pressure that the aligners place on your teeth. You will notice some results within just a few weeks. Patients will receive a new set of aligners every 2 weeks.
As your teeth gradually shift, they are ready to fit into the next aligner. After your first few sets of aligners, you should be able to tell that your teeth are moving. As long as you wear your aligners for the recommended 22 hours per day and follow instructions, you can be sure that your teeth move as fast as possible.
When patients fail to wear their aligners for 22 hours a day, that can mean there isn’t enough time for the aligners to move the teeth. You may find that if you’re slacking on wearing your aligners, your next set doesn’t even fit. In this case, you would have to wear the last set for longer to ensure they’re completely shifted.
ClearCorrect can correct a variety of orthodontic problems, including:
Crooked or misaligned teeth
While ClearCorrect can correct bite problems, this aligner system is best suited for minor malocclusions. Those who have severely misaligned bites may be more suitable candidates for metal braces. The best way to find out if you’re a good candidate for ClearCorrect is to book a consultation with Dr. Tran.
This ultimately depends on how many aligners you need to straighten your teeth and/or correct your bite. There are four ClearCorrect plans - limited 6, limited 12, flex, and unlimited. The first two give you 6 or 12 aligners, while the flex plan charges you a per-aligner rate, and unlimited is when you pay for an unlimited amount of aligners for 5 years.
On average, the cost is between $4000-$5500. Of course, the more mild your orthodontic problems are, the fewer aligners you will need, and the cheaper your plan will be. If you have dental insurance, this can also help cover the cost of your orthodontic treatment. ClearCorrect is, on average, much cheaper than Invisalign. We also offer financing options through CareCredit and Lending Club so you don’t have to worry about missing out on necessary treatment due to your budget.
